School Election
This week, the whole school have been learning more about elections and how they work. Today we had our very own elections, organised by the school council. ‘The Blue Legends’ and the ‘Yellow Sunshine Team’ delivered their manifesto pledges which had been carefully thought out and included ideas such as extended outside learning provision, more buddy work, raising money for the PTA and art club on the playground. The campaign teams were wonderful and very ably led by Della and Leo who put forward convincing arguments to the school.
Once we had listened to their ideas, everyone cast their own vote at the ballot box. Even Year 2 were involved and even though they were on their school trip to the zoo, they were able to submit postal votes. There was some wonderful discussion afterwards on the playground about balancing our own needs and wants against what might be best for the whole school community!
The final votes were very close with Yellow Sunshine just winning with 61 votes compared to 58 votes for The Blue Legends.
Thank you Mrs Moore and the school council for organising this.
