Year 1 & Year 4 Bee Project
Years 1 & 4 have been involved in some amazing learning together, sharing in a joint project on the importance of bees. Children paired up from the two classes to support each other in writing explanation texts about the honey bee. Together, they wrote sentences and paragraphs about a bee, a bee hive, bee keepers, and how honey is made.
This half term, the children also created bee models, learnt about the lifecycle of a bee and then had a special visit from a bee keeper (Alison Draper) to taste locally produced honey. Yesterday during the afternoon, buddies again worked together and made a thank you card for Alison to thank her for giving her time and sharing her knowledge so generously.
This morning, we were able to present the card (a special Mrs Bass creation) to Alison at Celebration assembly.
We have collaborated to produce some wonderful work and really lived out our mission:
‘Walking together—discovering life’!
