Year 4- Mental Wellbeing Workshop
This week, Year 4 had the opportunity to take part in a Mental Wellbeing workshop lead by Stevenage Sporting Futures.
The workshop educated children about the need for a healthy balanced diet and physical activity. Children were informed about the impact sugar and processed foods can have on their minds and consequently their body and that sugary and processed foods can lead to inflammation throughout the body and brain which may contribute to moods including anxiety, stress and depression. Children were taught about the foods which are called 'Brain foods' which help to boost our mental health. We all need to focus on eating plenty of fruits and vegetables along with foods rich in omega-3. The children even got to try fruit skewers - 5 year 4's tried some fruit they had never tried before and thought it was tasty!
