Year 6 - Easter Story
On Monday, Class 6 walked to Knebworth to spend the afternoon at St Martin’s Church, learning through practical activities about the festival of Easter. During the workshop, the children had an opportunity to hear from Christians about their belief in the teachings and miracles of Jesus and the events that happened in Holy Week, starting with Palm Sunday. After watching a film about Jesus arriving in Jerusalem to the praise of the crowds, they talked about The Last Supper, and the events of Good Friday. They explored why Christians believe Jesus was crucified and resurrected, finally planting sunflower seeds to take home and nurture, representing new life and hope.

The children and adults had a wonderful afternoon learning more about why the resurrection is so important to Christians. The volunteers running the Easter journey workshop were thoroughly impressed with the children’s listening and speaking skills and appreciated the variety and depth of their questions. Well done, Class 6, for representing All Saints so beautifully as always.
