Year 6 - London Visit

Year 6 children were treated to a post-SATs trip to London on Thursday, which started with a workshop at the Apple Store in Covent Garden.
The children learned how to design their own app and were then given the opportunity to find out about different video features allowing them to hone their film-making skills.
After a picnic lunch in nearby gardens, they then walked the short distance to the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane for a fantastic matinee performance of Disney's 'Hercules'. This musical comedy tells the tale of Hercules, the son of Zeus and Hera, who grows up on Earth after Hades makes him mortal. However, Hercules is still left with super strength and spends his life feeling like he doesn’t belong. When he discovers that he is a demigod, he seeks to become a hero to return to Mount Olympus.
The theatre itself was a breath-taking venue, and with the incredible music, songs, dancing, costume and set design it was a truly memorable experience for all. Thank you to Mrs Plester for organising and risk assessing the trip and to Mrs Morrison and Mrs Amani for their help in accompanying the children safely through the day.
